Ingredients of Praline
250g whole almonds
Vegetable oil, for greasing
220g (1 cup) sugar
60mls (1/4 cup) water
Steps To Make Praline
Step 1Preheat oven to 180°C.
Step 2Spread almonds over a baking tray and toast in preheated oven for 5-8 minutes or until aromatic. Remove from oven and cool.
Step 3Brush a flat baking tray with vegetable oil to lightly grease. Spread the toasted almonds evenly over the greased tray.
Step 4Combine the sugar and water in a small, heavy-based saucepan. Stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil and cook, without stirring, for 10-15 minutes or until golden. Remove immediately from the heat and allow the bubbles to subside. Pour over the almonds on the baking tray. Cool completely.
Step 5Break toffee into small pieces and place on a chopping board. Roll a rolling pin over the toffee to coarsely crush. (Alternatively, process in a food processor until coarsely crushed.) Store in an airtight container
