- 1 cup sugar
- 3⁄4 cup vinegar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1⁄8 tsp. ground white pepper
- 1 large head green cabbage, shredded
- 1 medium head red cabbage, shredded
- 2 cups shredded carrot
Steps To Make Make-Ahead Cabbage Salad
In medium saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, salt, celery seed, and white pepper. Bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves.
Combine remaining ingredients in very large bowl. Pour hot sugar mixture over the cabbage mixture and stir gently. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours before serving.
