Ingredients of Mega biscuits

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 4 cups Cornflakes
  • 2 cups desiccated coconut
  • 2 cups caster sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour, sifted
  • 2 cups sultanas
  • 250g butter, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup golden syrup
  • 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/3 cup boiling water

Steps To Make Mega biscuits


  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 180°C. Line 4 baking trays with baking paper. Using a pencil, draw 6 x 12cm circles onto each sheet of paper, leaving room between circles. Turn paper pencil-side down on trays.
  • Step 2
    Combine oats, Cornflakes, coconut, sugar, flour and sultanas in a large bowl.
  • Step 3
    Combine butter, golden syrup, bicarbonate of soda and water in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 4 minutes or until butter is melted and mixture is well combined. Stir butter mixture into dry ingredients. Mix well.
  • Step 4
    Shape 1/2 cupfuls of mixture into rounds on baking trays, using pencil marks as a guide. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden. Cool completely on trays.
