- 6 large eggs
- 1⁄4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1⁄4 cup anisette liqueur
- 1⁄4 cup honey
- 1⁄4 cup confectioners’ sugar
Steps To Make Italian Bread Pudding
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 13-by-9-inch baking pan with 1 teaspoon of the butter.
Melt the remaining butter. Tear the bread into large chunks and combine with the melted butter in a large bowl.
Beat the eggs in another large bowl and whisk in the granulated sugar, milk, cream, liqueur, and honey.
Place the bread mixture in the prepared pan. Pour the egg mixture over the top and stir.
Bake for 30 minutes, uncovered. Stir and return to the oven. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes longer until set. Sift confectioners’ sugar over pudding before serving.
