  • 1⁄4 cup anisette liqueur
  • 1⁄4 cup honey
  • 1⁄4 cup confectioners’ sugar

Steps To Make Italian Bread Pudding


  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 13-by-9-inch baking pan with 1 teaspoon of the butter.
  • Melt the remaining butter. Tear the bread into large chunks and combine with the melted butter in a large bowl.
  • Beat the eggs in another large bowl and whisk in the granulated sugar, milk, cream, liqueur, and honey.
  • Place the bread mixture in the prepared pan. Pour the egg mixture over the top and stir.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, uncovered. Stir and return to the oven. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes longer until set. Sift confectioners’ sugar over pudding before serving.
