Ingredients of Pressure Cooker Steel-Cut Oats
- 4 cups water, divided
- 1 cup steel-cut oats
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1⁄8 tsp. salt
Steps To Make Pressure Cooker Steel-Cut Oats
To toast the oats, preheat the oven to 300°F. Place the steel-cut oats on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes.
Place 1 cup water in the pressure cooker and add the steamer basket.
In a metal bowl that will fit inside the pressure cooker, add the oats, butter, salt, and 3 cups water.
Lower the uncovered bowl into the pressure cooker using a foil sling. Close and lock the lid.
Turn the heat up to high. When the cooker reaches pressure, lower the heat to the minimum needed to maintain pressure. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes at high pressure.
Remove from the heat and allow the pot to sit for 30 minutes before carefully releasing any residual pressure.
Spoon the cooked oats into bowls and season as you would regular oatmeal.
