  • Melted butter, for greasing
  • 240g (1 1/2 cups) wholemeal self-raising flour
  • 230g (1 1/4 cups) sultanas, chopped
  • 90g (2 cups) Bran Flakes (Kellogg’s brand)
  • 185mls (3/4 cup) honey
  • 60mls (1/4 cup) vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Steps To Make Honey, sultana and bran slice


  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Brush a 20 x 30cm slab pan with the butter to lightly grease. Line the base with non-stick baking paper.
  • Step 2
    Place the flour, sultanas and Bran Flakes in the bowl of a food processor. Process in short bursts until the sultanas are roughly chopped.
  • Step 3
    Place the honey, vegetable oil, eggs and nutmeg in a medium bowl and mix well. Add the flour mixture and use a wooden spoon to stir until well combined. Spoon the mixture into the lined pan and spread evenly over the base. Sprinkle evenly with the sesame seeds.
  • Step 4
    Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until cooked through. Cool the slice in the pan before removing and cutting into pieces.
